How to Make Hummingbird Food and Hummingbird Feeders

Humming Bird Food Recipe

Materials:

• Sugar
• Water

• Honey
• Red Dyes
• Artificial Sweeteners

Humming Bird Food Directions

For one feeder combine 1/4 cup sugar with 1 cup water. For more feeders or to keep extra for refills, combine 1 cup sugar with 4 cups water. Extra feed may be refrigerated for later use.

Some recipes recommend boiling the water, some do not.

Cleaning your HummingBird Feeder

Rinse your feeder each time you fill it. The feeder should be refilled very 2-3 days.

For a deeper clean use vinegar or bleach, being sure to rinse thoroughly after cleaning.

For one feeder, combine 1/4 cup vinegar with 1 cup water. Swish around inside and then rinse thoroughly.

If a bleach soak is in order, stir 1/4 cup bleach into a gallon of water and soak the feeder in a bucket for an hour or so. Rinse and refill with hummingbird food.
